..3rd Try .. 2020 Feb.6-15
Here we go again. Hopefully this 3rd time is a winner. The civil unrest in the country has been a large burden for the people. Shortages of food, supplies, and fuel have caused widespread anxiety.
The kids' school time has been affected in the last year. We were able to send money to RMI and Etienne for the purchase of food and agricultural products and goats. Hopefully this has helped our little corner of SW Haiti.
RMI has done a good job in helping the Les Anglais community.
Our group has shrunk a little. We are now 11. Jim Shaw (leader), Tim & Sue Kitch, Jan Kelly,
Bob & Cindy Jackson, Don & Sissy Hook, Lynda Fitzpatrick (mom), Austin Fitzpatrick (son), and Joe DeBlois.
Here's a picture of the (24) 50-lb suitcases that are packed with supplies for the church and village.
Packed within : wedding dresses, men's shirts, men's sport coats, ladies' skirts and blouses, soccer balls, soccer uniforms, men's shoes, toothbrushes, eyeglasses, solar lights, batteries, personal computers, school art project materials, school science project materials, electrical wire and fittings, plumbing fittings and tools, medical supplies, new drum heads, generator filters, women's tea goodies and gifts, deacons' gifts, cook staff gifts, school supplies, LED bulbs, +.
We depart PDX on Thursday, Feb.6 at 6pm on American Airlines, flying through Phoenix, and arrive in Miami at 5am. We depart Miami at 10:31am and arrive in Port Au Prince at 12:35pm. We gather up our personal carry-on luggage and go through customs and pick-up all of our 50-lb suitcases and head-out to the RMI vehicles and load-up. It's a long trip over the mountains to RMI's retreat center at Zanglais and their headquarters in Les Cayes.
Here are some of our team being 'commissioned' by Pastor Kim at OSLC's 2nd service :
I will add posts from airports and wherever I can find WIFI spots.
We appreciate your support and prayers! Bon Dye beni ou. May God bless you.
