..Saturday - Arrival in Les Anglais
Hi. We've just returned to Les Cayes late Wed. afternoon. We unloaded all of the trucks at the RMI compound and transferred our luggage to the motorcoach for the trip to the Zanglais Retreat Center.
I will work on more daily posts in the next several days when I have WIFI connectivity. KEEP CHECKING !
We left the RMI center and made the long journey to Les Anglais. Much of the route was bone-jarring! Upon arriving at the Les Anglais river and basin, which did not have a bridge, we 'snaked' thru the river bed, didging boulders and deep pockets of water to arrive at the entry to Les Anglais. Enjoy these pictures of our welcome as many of the church school's students greeted us, along with a brass band.
We were escorted through town to our sister church.
The students and band and church staff met us in the church. Pastor Bonel greeted us and gave thanks for our safe journey.
After the welcomes and introductions we helped moved all of the luggage into the Pastor's house and our rooms. It was soon time for dinner that included beans and rice, beef and onions, and plantains. Afterwards the women gathered all of the Ladies' Tea supplies and started to organize them in the Jackson's room.
